The 1930s is considered the "Golden Age" of American song; many of today's "standards" were composed then, particularly during the earlier years. Note that many bands such as the Benny Goodman Trio, Quartet, and Orchestra, Teddy Wilson, Fats Waller, Lionel Hampton, the Bob Crosby Orchestra., etc., recorded many classic jazz tunes from the 1920s. These are in the Dixieland Fake Book, so we have included a combined index to both books. Ballroom, latin and novelty dances are likely to be requested by the same folks who like the music in this book; those tunes are in Gigbook, which therefore is a companion to this one, so we included a combined index in Gigbook
