Jim Riley, well-known for his book "Routines for Better Banjo", has developed two highly focused instruction booklets with accompanying CD's.  "Jim Riley's Banjo Strokes" and "Jim Riley's Tenor Banjo Intro's."

"Tenor Banjo Intros" is a study program that examines stock lead-in's, vamps, novelty and modern chord intros, including tags and turnarounds.

"Banjo Strokes" is a step-by-step instruction that uses mnemonics to explain each stroke and to reinforce learning.  It is a study program for both tenor and plectrum banjoists who want to improve their right hand skills and acquire mastery of simple to complex strokes.

In each instance, the CD is the primary learning tool, with the accompanying booklet as a visual assist.
