The Fourth Street Five Jazz Band has been performing traditional jazz in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1990.  They have become very well known for their hard-driving New Orleans style of jazz.  The band enjoys playing tunes originally made famous by Jelly Roll Morton, Clarence William's Blue Five, Bix Beiderbecke and others from the 1920's and '30's.  The frontline musicians have the ability to switch instyruments during a tune, making the band sound like more than just five members.  The Fourth Street Five has also been known to creatively perform a few contemporary tunes in a New Orleans jazz style.  The combination makes these recordings uniquely special.
